Several ways exist to predict energy yields of a solar PV system from very simple calculations to detailed computer modelling.

The bigger and more complicated the system the more beneficial it is to create a detailed energy yield simulation and determine

  • exactly how much our panels will generate
  • how to install them,, what type of installation to choose to maximize energy yields
  • Whether you have a kW or MW sized PV plant, doing a simulation with us leads to the following results:
  • Higher IRR
  • Better bankability
  • Shorter payback period

Meaning You are going to make a better investment both time and money-wise.


When making an enegy yield simulation of solar PV plants we can choose from the following options:

Level 1:
In Hungary the average energy yield is around 1050-1150 kWh/kWp×year, it means that a systems with 1 kWp nameplate capacity generates 1050-1150 kWh electricity annually. This is a simple estimation.

Level 2:
We use an online database, that includes actual energy yield data of Europe. With this GIS map based database we can locate the desired installation site by coordinates, then the software calculates energy yields by

  • using actual meteorological data
  • Doing terrain (no built environment!) shadow analysis

Level 3:
To greatly surpass Level 1 and Level 2 we create a real scale 3D model simulation of the planned installation. This process requires the blueprint of the surrounding terrain and buildings (if this is a rooftop PV system). Given we have these we create a 3D model - that is also virtual reality (VR) compatible - and further analyze the shadow effect of natural and built environment on the solar PV system.
This is fundamental because shadow effect is one of the biggest source of energy yield loss.
In this process, of course, we are using exact location based hourly meteorological data to guarantee accurate predictions.

3D modelling enables us to analyze how the system is affected by shadows in every second of an average meteorological year, so we can make an accurate energy yield prediction.
