Haller Residential Park - Gateway Between Sustainable and Conventional Living

Project Summary

The Haller Development is a gateway between sustainable and conventional living in Budapest. Working closely together with our Partner, we realised there is only one way in real estate for the future and it is through green innovation. The project will cut the utility usage and costs on a 5 unit residential building using a 50 kW rooftop solar PV system.

Opportunity

The Haller development appeared on the real estate market as a pioneer, our client is developing a premium segment with the potential of decreased living costs and truly sustainable living.

Challenges

The main challenge was only being able to use buildings 1 and 2 due to building regulations: As a result of 3D simulation we received inadequate shade/light ratio because of the roof mounted HVAC system and the noise wall. Therefore we had to be creative and evaluate a more efficient solar panel system.

Solutions

Due to lack of suitable surfaces for solar modules fitting, it was suggested to build some pergolas. It was necessary to keep the pergola in a range of 40° from the walls.
